Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ to the realm of space, inviting France and the world to join India in its next space frontier. He emphasized that France has been a trusted partner since the inception of the Indian space programme at Thumba in the 1960s.
““Today, our cooperation spans Earth observation and advanced technologies, uniting scientific excellence with human purpose. We invite France and the world to be co-travellers in India’s next space frontier,” he stated in a video address at the International Space Summit held in Paris.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for the invitation to the summit. He remarked,
““Let the Space Summit in Paris send a clear message: we will explore together, innovate together and protect space together, for all humanity, and for generations to come.”
India's Space Programme
Discussing India's space programme, Modi highlighted the country's international footprint in launch services, having successfully placed 430 payloads from 34 countries into orbit. He noted that ISRO, which is central to this journey, has gained global admiration for its excellence and cost-effective missions.
