Mackie played a pivotal role in Cher's career, famously designing her iconic Mohawk outfit for the 1986 Oscars. This costume, which became known as her "revenge" outfit, featured a plumed mohawk headdress and showcased Cher's bare midriff, a shocking look at the time.
