Apple is making significant strides in the smart home market. On Tuesday, the company unveiled its new Apple Home Collection, featuring a smart deadbolt lock, video doorbell, thermostat, temperature sensor, and a variety of security cameras. These devices are designed to integrate with HomeView, Apple's new smart home hub, allowing users to control connected accessories and interact with Apple's software.
Competing in the Smart Home Space
This new range of smart home accessories positions Apple to better compete with established players like Amazon Ring and Google Nest in the connected home security sector. The products are set to be available in December.
Apple collaborated with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to develop these devices, marking a shift from its previous strategy of building and supporting every smart home accessory independently.
