Authorities in The Hague banned an anti-immigration march on Saturday after violence erupted, leading to the deployment of riot police to disperse several hundred far-right protesters. The protest was organized by the far-right group We Are the People, and local authorities took action after demonstrators threw fireworks and other projectiles at police officers.

Arrests and Response

According to the Dutch public broadcaster NOS, at least 24 people were arrested during the unrest. The Justice Minister David van Weel condemned the violence, calling for an "extremely firm" response to what he described as "disgusting scenes" at the protest. He noted that demonstrators made Nazi salutes, chanted antisemitic slogans, and attacked police with fireworks.
