Magistrates in Hereford have withdrawn a car tax conviction against Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, after it was revealed that he was the victim of a scam involving a Nissan Micra that he does not own.

Last month, Khan was found guilty under a system described as "conveyor-belt justice," where magistrates handle hundreds of cases daily, often in less than a minute. City Hall officials confirmed that the 24-year-old Nissan Micra in question did not belong to Khan or Transport for London.
Court Proceedings
The case was formally reopened during a magistrates court hearing at Hereford justice centre on Thursday. The panel of magistrates withdrew the case following a request from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). Notably, neither Khan nor a representative from the DVLA attended the brief one-minute hearing.
