Madurai, Tamil Nadu – On October 28, 2024, RB Udhayakumar, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu, attributed the recent waterlogging in Madurai to the negligence of the DMK government. He stated, "Today's flood in Madurai is due to natural causes or negligence of the DMK government. This is due to the negligence of the government; Madurai has become an island with water logging up to the waist level after one day of rain."
Government Accountability
Udhayakumar criticized the MK Stalin-led state government for failing to take action despite previous investigations into the issue. He remarked, "Although investigation has been done, no action has been taken to address the issue... Many questions have been raised, but the government has not provided solutions. The people are suffering due to the government's inaction."
