A missile blast at a wedding in Kuhestak, a coastal city in Hormozgan province, Iran, has resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals and injuries to 68 others. The incident, which occurred late on Tuesday, has raised concerns about escalating hostilities between Iran and the United States.
Incident Details
The wedding ceremony was taking place at a private home when the missile struck, causing significant destruction. Among the deceased were a four-year-old child, Amir-Ali Karimi, and a 16-year-old, Mohammad Mollahi. Ali Mollahi, the father of the bride, expressed his devastation, stating,
“"It’s a terrible thing. I’m extremely worried and upset about what happened – really upset."
A video shared by the Fars news agency depicted the chaotic aftermath, with wedding decorations scattered and shoes left behind in the panic.
Government Response
Ahmad Nafisi, the deputy of the provincial government, reported that first responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist the wounded. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson condemned the attack as a "war crime," asserting that Iran would respond firmly to such actions. Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, the chief Iranian negotiator, labeled the US as the "great Satan" and stated:
“"If a power acts like Satan, picks targets like Satan and kills like Satan, it’s Satan. Shields a junior Satan that does the same? It’s THE Great Satan."
