Pranav Pandey Joins Janata Dal (United)
Patna (Bihar), October 28 (ANI): Pranav Pandey, the father of Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan, officially joined the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) in Patna on Sunday. After his induction into the party, Pandey expressed his commitment, stating,
“"I am a soldier of the party and will work dedicatedly to strengthen the party..."
Political Context
The announcement comes amidst rising political tensions in Bihar. On Saturday, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized both JD(U) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He accused them of attempting to incite riots and divide communities, urging a focus on pressing issues such as education, agriculture, poverty, and unemployment.
Yadav remarked,
“"Those who want riots, want to break the country, and those who are anti-constitution and anti-reservation, want conflict between two communities. We want to talk about the issues... Education, agriculture, poverty and unemployment should be discussed... But the BJP only wants to discuss mandir-masjid, Hindu-Muslim, Pakistan and Kashmir."
