In a recent press conference, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, who is the President of the Awami Ittehad Party and a Member of Parliament, called on Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, to reveal the details of his discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during his recent visit to New Delhi.
Right to Know
Rashid emphasized that the public has a right to know what was discussed in these high-level meetings. He stated,
“"People have a right to know what was discussed in those talks when you met the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister and others."
He specifically urged Abdullah to clarify whether the restoration of Article 370 and the release of political prisoners were topics of discussion. Rashid remarked,
“"You have met the Prime Minister, Home Minister and others; it is your duty to let people know about the issues discussed and their responses."
